FAQs & Help

We are here to help you. Find an answer to all your printing questions below. If not, get in touch with us.

What are the advantages of full color printing?
The highest quality and most appealing print publications are printed in full color using the 4-color (CMYK or Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black) offset printing process. In contrast, computer monitors use a different color model called RGB (Red-Blue-Green). The result is often a difference between what we see on the screen and what we see in a printed job. Studies have shown that full color increases readership and that there is over a 60 % increase in retention with full color versus black and white.

Why must Florida Residents pay sales taxes?
HYDESIGN, as a Florida corporation and domiciled in SW Florida, must collect and remit a 7% sales on the paper and ink content of all jobs shipped to Florida destinations. If you are a tax exempt organization or re-seller, please e-mail us your exemption certificate or tax number.

Absolutely not. Your information is considered confidential by HYDESIGN, we will not sell or rent this information to others.

Does the Turnaround Time include Shipping Time?
No, the Turnaround Time is how long it will take Hydesign to complete your project. This is the time from final proof approval to job shipment. All jobs are shipped UPS and you can choose from four different alternatives: ground to next day air.

What color mode should my files be?
You should always start and finish your designs in CMYK color mode. If you send us an RGB file, there is a chance that a color shift may occur and you may not be satisfied with your job.

What resolution should my file be?
We only accept 300 dpi files and no less. Low resolution files may be printed as is or will be placed on hold until we receive new files, slowing your turn-around.

How should I set up my bleed and crop marks?
Bleed must extend past the cut-line and will be trimmed from the product during the final cutting phase. When the image is required to extend all the way to the edge, bleed is needed to preserve the finished look and the quality of the final product. Please keep all text at least 0.125″ inside the cut-line. The bleed for Standard Products is 0.125″. The bleed for Booklets and Presentation Folders is 0.25″.
